What is an MVNO?
MVNO stands for Mobile Virtual Network Operator. These companies don't build towers; instead, they buy wholesale access from big networks like Verizon and sell it to you at a discount.
Is the coverage different?
Technically, no. If a provider uses Verizon towers, your signal bars will look exactly the same as a Verizon customer's. However, major carriers may "deprioritize" MVNO speeds during peak traffic times.
Who should switch?
Anyone paying over $60/line on a single account. If you already own your phone outright and don't need a high-interest device contract, switching to an MVNO is the fastest way to save $400+/year.
